Raw linen yarn. Produced using a distaff in rural India.
This unprocessed, undyed linen yarn is spun not with straw as it may look like, but handspun incorporating remnants of the flax plant. It is that unprocessed!
This yarn is spun on the laps of village women using ancient tribal techniques. They spin using a distaff spindle from raw flax.
This yarn is exactly what you would expect. It is quite chunky, the flax fibers are evident and pop out of the yarn adding texture. There are are no chemicals involved in the production of this yarn.
