We have been working directly with our colleagues in India to continually improve the quality of the waste silk raw materials available to us. We have been working together sourcing new, rich quality sari silk waste fabrics for our yarns, and this batch beats all.

Beautiful handcut strips of sari silk fabric made into fabulous ribbon yarn. Handmade from waste silk destined for landfill. The depth of colour in each of these skeins are stunning. Each ox blood, wine hued sari silk ribbon contains strips of patterned sari silk. The images do not do this yarn justice. When you hold these in your hands, you just want to unravel them, open them out and just peer at the colour depth. They are so exotic!  Wide strips of silk with the little pattern strips throughout each skein just add that bit extra to your creative works.

Get your creative justices flowing with these unique sari silk ribbon yarns. They are suitable for knitting as a knitting ribbon, crochet ribbon, weaving, rug hooking, wall hangings and fibre arts.

Our sari silk ribbon has been handmade by a group of women we support in rural India. The artisans hand tear strips of eyelashes sari silk ribbon and sew end to end to form a continuous yarn. Each piece of sari silk, each skein of ribbon yarn has it's own personality with a uniqueness that is peerless.

By purchasing these yarns you are supporting fair trade, happy working conditions and the continuation of ancient crafts in rural villages giving underprivileged families work within their own homes.

Magical, sparkling art yarns, magical people. See 'Our Yarn Journey' for more info on the craftspeople and women's co-ops who produce these yarns.

Each 100g skein is approx 55 yards.

Handwash with light detergent. Lie flat to dry.
