Remnants from silk scarf making. Beautiful varied prints.
Silk ribbon yarns handmade from recycled silk scarf remnants which have been handmade in India. Strips of leftover pure silk has been sewn end to end by our group of women in India to produce an exotic and inspirational ethical ribbon yarn. Soft silk, wide strips made from waste in the brightest of colours and also some embroidery. We love it!
The scarves are produced in little factories in rural India where the scarf fabric is digitally printed and handmade into silk scarves. We take the remnant silk and produce ribbon yarns from it.
Each piece of sari silk, each skein of ribbon yarn has its own personality with an identity that is peerless! Silk ribbon yarn is suitable for knitting, crochet, weaving, embroidery, cushion work, quilting, bracelet making and textile arts.
Each 100g skein is approx 50 yards.
Handwash with light detergent. Lie flat to dry.
