Orange Recycled Sari Silk Ribbon Yarn

Rich, vibrant and wonderfully tactile, this orange sari silk ribbon yarn brings a gorgeous burst of colour and texture to any creative project.

Handmade in India from reclaimed sari silk fabric, the material is cut into strips and joined together to create a chunky ribbon yarn with beautiful natural irregularities. The intense burnt orange/coral shade has a subtle silk sheen, while the raw edges, soft crinkles and occasional loose threads give it its distinctive character.

I have been sourcing these beautiful yarns directly from women’s groups and small producers in India for many years, supporting traditional skills while giving leftover sari fabrics a new life rather than allowing them to go to waste.

Perfect for crochet, knitting, weaving, textile art, wall hangings, rug hooking, basket making, macramé, jewellery, tassels and mixed-media projects. It is particularly striking when you want to introduce a strong block of colour and texture.

Details:
• 1 × 100g skein
• Approx. 40 metres
• Recycled sari silk ribbon
• Handmade in India
• Rich orange / coral colour
• Chunky, textured fabric yarn
• Each skein is individually handmade

As this is a recycled handmade yarn, variations in width, texture, joins and shade are completely natural. These aren't imperfections — they're part of what makes every skein unique.

Care: Hand wash gently in cold water with a light detergent and lay flat to dry.

A bold, beautiful textile ribbon yarn for makers who love colour, texture and materials with a story.
